Measurable levels of faith.
For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
Romans 12:3 KJV
- God has metered out to each a measure of faith.
- From there it must grow.
- Faith is like a mustard seed; small but it grows into a tree.
And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
Matthew 17:20 KJV
Measurable degrees of righteousness and sin.
But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full.
Genesis 15:16 KJV
- Complete means whole or full in the Hebrew word.
Measurable levels of grace.
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
2 Corinthians 9:8 KJV
And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.
Acts 4:33 KJV
- Word for great is mega.
- Grace, Mega-Grace, and All Grace.
Measurable degrees of love.
- Greater love; love grown cold; love abounding.
Measurable, accumulative amounts of power exist in the realm of the spirit.
- Certain amounts must be released in order to accomplish certain things.
- Different levels for different situations.
- For both power and faith.
- Different levels for different situations.
But Jesus, said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house. And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them. And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.
Mark 6:4-6 KJV
- Sufficient power was released to do a few healings but not enough to do miracles.
- Differing amounts are needed for different situations.
- The problem wasn’t with Jesus.
- The amount of power and authority He possessed hadn’t wavered, nor changed, nor had His faith wavered.
- Their unbelief blocked enough power which prevented a miracle.
- Likewise, our corporate faith level, when we gather, affects what Holy Spirit can accomplish.
- Like the disciples in Matthew 17:14-21.
- This required more power than they possessed.
- Like the disciples in Matthew 17:14-21.
- We are the conduits of His power.
- Typically, it does not happen simply by our asking Him to do it, but in partnering with Him, as conduits of his power.
- He needs us to release the power into the situation.
- Often not once and done, but consistently releasing power until what has been asked for is completed.
- Also, the prayer of agreement multiplies power and is often needed.
- Elijah labored in prayer diligently even though it was:
- God’s timing.
- God’s idea.
- God’s will.
- God’s promise.
- Not casual prayer, but fervent prayer.
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.
James 5:16-18 KJV
- So why did he have to pray fervently, seven times?
- He had to persevere until his intercession released enough power into the heavens to produce the rain.
- And Daniel praying 21 days?
- Releasing enough power to influence the warfare, removing the demonic interference.
- God’s power is not limited.
- He chooses to work in the earth through humans.
- Daniel’s prayer was responsible for the releasing of the angel.
- It was also needed to overcome the spiritual warfare.
- Perseverance in prayer is to release more of God’s power.
Ask ye of the Lord rain in the time of the latter rain; so the Lord shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.
Zechariah 10:1 KJV
