Scripture Personalized – Isaiah 54:1-17

March 02,2018

I shall break forth into singing, praising my Lord and my God. More will be my children than that of a married woman. I shall enlarge the place of my tent and strengthen my stakes and lengthen my chords. I will not spare when stretching out the curtains of my dwellings. I will expand to the right and the left. My descendants will have a great inheritance and inhabit the desolate places.

I will not fear nor be ashamed; I will not be disgraced nor put to shame. I will forget the shame of my youth; I will not remember the reproach of my widowhood anymore. For my Maker is my Husband, the Lord of Hosts is His name, and my redeemer is the Holy One of Israel; He is called the God of the whole earth. For the Lord has called me like a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, like a youthful wife when I was refused. For a mere moment I was forsaken, but with great mercies my Lord gathers me. With a little wrath He had hid his face from me for a moment, but with everlasting kindness He has mercy on me, says the Lord my Redeemer.

Like the waters of Noah, He has sworn that they would no longer cover the earth, so He has sworn that He would not be angry with me, nor rebuke me. For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed, but His kindness shall not depart from me, nor shall His covenant of peace be removed, says the Lord who has mercy on me.

As an afflicted one, tossed with tempest, and not comforted, He will lay my stones with colorful gems; He will lay my foundations with sapphires; He will make my Pinnacles of rubies; He will make my gates of crystal; He will make all my walls of precious stones. All of my children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of my children. In righteousness shall I be established; I shall be far from oppression and I shall not fear; and I shall be far from terror, and it shall not come near me. Indeed, they shall surely assemble, but not because of my Lord. Whoever assembles against me shall fall for my sake. The Lord has created the blacksmith who blows the coals in the fire, who brings forth an instrument for his work. The Lord has also created the spoiler to destroy. No weapon formed against me shall prosper, and every tongue that raises up against me in judgment I shall condemn, for this is the heritage of the servants of the Lord.
