5. What is to Come

To the churches in Anoka, a great shaking is coming.

There is a time coming that will reveal the things that are built upon Christ, which will stand, and those that are not, which will fall.

For the time has come for judgment to begin at the House of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?  1 Peter 4:17

Over the past 2 years, Anoka Awakening has provided prayer cover for the spiritual atmosphere. The current efforts are covering the individual churches with prayer toward repentance and restoration.

The churches in Anoka are cautioned to be prepared, to be ready for what is to come.

Prepare the way of the Lord, for the Kingdom of God is at hand.

Purify yourself and your church, and do that which is pleasing in the sight of God.

Be prepared to minister to many:

  1. as chaos and tragedy strikes. People will be confused and scared. They will be seeking God for relief and understanding.
  2. when the Holy Spirit is poured out in great measure. Signs and wonders will follow those who are truly following Christ and faithfully serving God.

The time is short, so repent now and seek intimacy with Father, God Almighty.

This is the time to prepare to be able to offer hope and mercy to a confused world.

There is a call to unity for the Body of Christ. Anoka Awakening is sowing seeds of unity across denominational lines. "In HIS Heartbeat" was a public worship event in October, 2017, that was one such event that crossed denominational lines. We need to celebrate that which we have in common; our Savior, Jesus Christ. The theology and customs or traditions of man can no longer be allowed to separate us.

What if:

  • we had unity in the body?
  • we had unity of purpose?
  • we were to seek God for His plan?
  • we produced disciples who were truly godly men and women?

The results could be:

  • great leadership in the community and culture.
  • that we become the head and not the tail; leading and directing the course of action rather than reacting to it.
  • leadership by godly men and women in every aspect of life.
    • Religion, Family, Education, Government, Media, Arts and Entertainment, Business, and any other area.
  • godly men and women in office.
    • Mayor, City Council, County Directors, School Board, etc.
  • the truth of God alone being preached and taught, absent of man's agenda and traditions.
  • believers worshiping in spirit and truth, with pure hearts and clean hands.
  • good communication within the family, and serving others in the name of Jesus.
  • the goodness and righteousness of God being invited back into every aspect of our culture and society.

It is the responsibility of the church leaders to teach the truths of God so the congregation can do the ministry of the saints.

It is the responsibility of the church members to demand truth and to worship God in truth, in thought and action.

"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." John 13:34-35

The verses do not say that all will accept us, but that we will be known as disciples of Jesus Christ. We will be identified with Him. What if we truly lived in a way where we were all identified with Christ? What changes would take place in our society and culture?

Unity in the body would enable great change in every aspect of life. The changes would flow from our churches into our homes and out into our businesses and social activities. The changes to righteous living would follow us wherever our sphere of influence would take us. There would not be a segment of our world that would be untouched. Love in unity is the root of transformation now, just as it was in the first century. It is time to sow the seeds of unity and be at the forefront of the coming great awakening of the spirit of man at the outpouring of the Spirit of God. Whether it be the great harvest, or the ministry to the influx of new believers, there will be much to do as God calls upon His people to love the world as He has loved us.

We do not need to come up with things to do and ask God to bless them. We need to ask God what He wants to do so we can walk in His blessing. More committees and programs are not necessarily the answer. Obedience is what is called for to be a follower of Christ. We need to discern what Father is doing so we can co-labor with Him. Sometimes that obedience requires a level of sacrifice or suffering. Jesus "learned obedience by the things which He suffered." and "He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him." (Hebrews 5:7-10)

Are we willing to answer the call?

Will we be found worthy of being called His disciples?

Are we willing to go beyond ourselves, our own desires, and our traditions of man?

Are we willing to seek the truth of God? Are we willing to seek true communion with God as seen in Jesus' prayer in John 17?

We must each answer for ourselves. But be sure of this, judgment and rewards are coming.

Another Note

Halloween is the idolatry of the City of Anoka. The county is not immune, however, because as the county seat goes, the county follows, whether in blessing or under curse.

I am not here to rail against the parades and activities because I believe the main issue is spiritual at its core. The church has the first responsibility of resolving this issue.

Halloween is the idolatry of this city as evidenced by its inclusion, and promotion: within our government structure (city policy); our schools (early indoctrination and false teaching); our homes (personal agreement with pagan practices); our culture/arts and entertainment (celebration of questionable practices - from a Christian perspective); our businesses (compromise for personal gain); our media (as promotion and celebration of such activities); and even within our churches (compromise with the ways of the world).

The church establishment (congregations) and the Church as a whole (the Body of Christ) are responsible for leading the culture in the way of holiness. Compromise with the world is not only abhorred in the eyes of God, but it is also a disservice to the community at large in addition to leading the Body of Christ astray.

Our compromise, past and present, has allowed this idolatry to establish deep and firm roots. It would be very difficult to remove this weed in the physical realm without first dealing with the spiritual root. The leadership in all of the above mentioned areas must repent on behalf of present and past behaviors, actions, and decisions. With humility before God, we must seek His deliverance from this scourge upon our land. The first group is the church who must repent for the compromise that enabled, and continues to enable, the idolatry. The city leaders must renounce the proclamation of the "Halloween Capital of the World" as it is an unholy soul tie between the city and ungodly practices. All other areas must then follow suit.

It is unity in the Body of Christ that would enable godly men and women to be raised up to the positions from which this could be accomplished. A unified Body of Christ would raise up a new standard that would transform our society and culture. The city would truly be a city of light set upon a hill for all to see. Such a city would be a witness to all the world and the hope and desire of other cities for the health and welfare of their residents.

Are we up to the task? Will we answer the call of God saying, "Yes Lord. Here I am, send me."? God is calling upon His disciples to arise and shine. The whole creation is awaiting the manifestation of the sons of God. Are we willing to answer the call?

Will you answer the call in whatever role you are called to occupy?
